One of the Port’s biggest Airpark projects is now complete, after final coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in February 2019.
Initiated and in-progress since 2016, the “Taxiway-B Relocation Project” brought the west side of the Airpark into compliance with the FAA’s latest design and operational requirements.
In the process, the old taxiway was torn up and a new one constructed further to the west (to provide better separation for aircraft between it and the runway), new full-length lighting installed, new and safer cross-taxiways built, and various other improvements to the west side. The project turned out very well, and was completed earlier than scheduled and under cost.
