Airport Viewing Area

A public viewing area is located at the northeast corner of the Scappoose Airport on Moore Road, near the end of the runway. The viewing area includes a parking lot, picnic tables, and an excellent view of the airfield where families and aviation buffs can go and watch the aircraft take off and land.

The project was developed in 2019 on the recommendation of the Scappoose Airport Advisory Committee. After the airport property was completely fenced and secured back in the late 1990s, the tradition of parking and watching the airplanes was lost. The goal of this project was to bring that activity back to the community and give kids and people who don’t otherwise have access to the airport a venue where they can come and watch the airplanes.
